1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SatGate ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SatGate is an Economic Firewall that enforces Economic Access Control for AI agent requests. The Service includes an HTTP reverse proxy gateway, an MCP (Model Context Protocol) proxy for tool-call governance, a cloud dashboard (cloud.satgate.io), SDKs, CLI tools, and related documentation. SatGate provides budget enforcement, per-tool cost attribution, capability-based authentication via Macaroons, and optional API monetization via L402 (Lightning) and Fiat402 (credit-based) protocols.

3. SatGate Cloud

SatGate Cloud (cloud.satgate.io) is a managed SaaS offering. By signing up, you provide an email address for authentication via magic link, OAuth (Google, GitHub), or enterprise SSO. Your email is used solely for authentication and service communications. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys.

4. Non-Custodial Nature

When using L402 (Lightning) payment features, SatGate is non-custodial. We do not hold, control, or have access to your Bitcoin, Lightning funds, or private keys. All Lightning payments settle directly between payers and your Lightning node. You are solely responsible for the security of your node and credentials.

5. Open Source License

The SatGate open-source software is released under the Apache 2.0 License. You may use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with that license. Enterprise features are available under a separate commercial license. The Apache 2.0-licensed software is provided "as is" without warranty.

6. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL SATGATE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR FUNDS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to violate any laws in your jurisdiction, or to infringe upon the rights of others.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
